Save Instagram videos and photos with The SnapInsta

The SnapInsta is a free Instagram downloader for saving photos and videos to your phone or computer. Copy the link to a public post, paste it above, and choose the files you want to download. You can use the website in your browser without installing a separate app.

A post with several photos or videos appears as a set of individual results, so you can save one item or work through the whole post. For several separate links, use the Bulk Downloader. Stories, Highlights and profile pictures also have their own tools and instructions below.

How to download from Instagram

You need the link to the post, Reel or Story you want to save. The steps below take you from copying that link to downloading the file.
1

Copy the Instagram link

Open the photo or video on Instagram. Open its sharing options and choose Copy link. On a computer, you can copy the address of the individual post from your browser.
2

Paste it into The SnapInsta

Return to this page, paste the link into the box and select Download. Wait for the photos, videos or available file options to appear.
3

Save the photo or video

Select Download beside the item you want. If the post contains several items, download them individually or use the photo ZIP option when shown. Your browser handles the final save.

What can you download?

  • Instagram videos

Save videos from public posts and choose among the file options shown in the results. Open the downloaded video to watch it offline.

  • Photos and carousel posts

Download a single photo or choose images from a post with several slides. The image ZIP option groups the returned photos into one download.

  • Instagram Reels

Paste the link to an individual Reel to download its video. The Reels page also explains audio, file quality and common download problems.

  • Stories and Highlights

Save photos and videos from accessible Stories, or use a Highlight link for Stories kept on a profile. A Story needs to remain available when you download it.

  • Profile pictures

Use an Instagram username or profile link to find and download the available profile picture. This is separate from downloading photos inside a post.

  • Several links in one batch

Enter up to five separate Instagram links and check their results together. You can retry a failed link without starting the whole batch again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is The SnapInsta free?

Yes. You can use the download tools without buying a subscription or creating a website account. Batch and ZIP downloads have limits listed on their tool pages.

Can I download Instagram videos on iPhone or Android?

Yes, you can use the website in your phone's browser. On iPhone, look for the saved file in the Downloads folder in Files. On Android, open Downloads in Chrome or your file manager.

Do I need to log in to Instagram?

You do not need to enter an Instagram password on The SnapInsta to download supported public posts. Private content uses a separate tool and requires access you already have to the post.

Can I download videos in HD or 4K?

Choose from the resolutions shown for your link. The available quality depends on the files returned from Instagram; some posts have fewer options than others. The downloader cannot turn a low-resolution video into a higher-quality original.

Can I save every photo in a carousel?

Use the Instagram photo downloader to save the photos returned for a post individually, or use the image ZIP option when available. Check the previews to see which items were found. Videos in a mixed carousel need their own download.

Why is an Instagram link not downloading?

First, open the link on Instagram and check that the post is still available. Copy its link again and try once more. Private posts, expired Stories and temporary connection problems can prevent a download.

Where are my downloaded photos and videos?

Check your browser's downloads list for the file and its location. On a phone, a download may be in Files or Downloads before it appears in your photo library. If no file is listed, the download may not have completed.

Can I download from a private Instagram account?

Use the Private Downloader for a post you can already view in your own Instagram account. It has a separate process that uses the page's HTML source. It cannot open a private account for you.
